Lee Roy Selmon's existence is one of football scholarships, family involvement as well as community involvement. First family, he's the youngest of the nine children born to Lucious and Jessie Selmon raised on a farm at Eufala, Oklahoma. He was also one of three siblings who represented Oklahoma on the field of football. All three brothers were All-Americans. The year was 1973. Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy was named the top offensive lineman in country by Outland and Lombardi Awards. Over the course of three seasons, Roy was on the field, Oklahoma won two National Championships. Selmon was given a second scholarship in 1975 and named as an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon was awarded a degree from Education. Lee Roy was involved in voluntary work for 10 hours a week throughout his college years. After graduating Lee Roy relocating to Tampa where he spent nine years playing for Tampa's Buccaneers. Three times, he was selected All-Pro. Lee Roy began his professional career. In 1988, he was an Account Relation Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He also worked with the following organizations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It was not a surprise when In 1982, The Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy one of 10 young stars across the country. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in the height department and weighed 256 lbs in his college days. He played for the team of 1975. Lee Roy joined the University of South Florida in 1993 as an Associate Director of Sports. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame through his fellow members of the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame of 1994 as well as by the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989 The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma was the person who presented the award.
